In August 2012, it will welcome the world as the window to the London Games. It’s also the site of Paula Findlay’s breakthrough win at the debut of city’s new triathlon course.

A second ITU World Championship Series win in Austria soon followed and with a fifth place finish at the 2010 World Championships, she’s quickly become an Olympic medal hopeful and will look to add to her history in Hyde Park.

If the world doesn't know Paula now, they're going to get to know her leading into the London Games.

Commenting on Paula’s breakthrough season the Toronto Star’s Randy Starkman said it best: “She does her thing by water, bike and on foot as a fast-rising Canadian triathlete, with guts, toughness and smarts. This 21-year-old from Edmonton is suddenly emerging as one of Canada’s potential stars for the 2012 Summer Games.”

Paula opened the 2011 ITU World Championship Series season in Sydney, Australia — where teammate Simon Whitfield won gold for Canada at the 2000 Olympic Games — with her third win in the past five events.
